On Wednesday June 10th, @flyingmummies and @richmond_art_museum teamed up to host Napoleon Dynamite Live! Following a meet and greet, cast members @hederjon, @jongries, and @thereal.efrenramirez graced the stage after a screening of the film (and a time machine ride to the past) to share what the film ment to them, and how their paths crossed to end up playing the iconic roles they did. Fans were given the opportunity to ask questions, while others participated in trivia and scene re-enactments for prizes including boondoggle keychains, chapstick (unopened), and individual tots. Both showtimes ended the same way, with an impromptu costume look-a-like contest turned dance off, with winners being awarded a signed Flying Mummies baseball. If you missed this opportunity or just want more Napoleon Dynamite in your life, all three actors (are part owners) will be at tonight’s Flying Mummies game at McBride Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm. During his time at @oblivionindiana he joined in on one of the very popular oil painting sessions led by @benetorious This was also a bit of an unexpected day for me, as all images were captured in film and developed on site. (There’s a couple rolls I still need to process but with time they’ll get done). Medium format images captured in Pentax 67 and 105 f2.4 with ilford Delta 3200, 35mm images captured with Canon EOS 630 and sigma 24-35 f2. On Wednesday April 29th, local community organizations including @indivisiblewci, @black_legacy_project_wc, and local chapters of the NAACP and League of Women Voters hosted a “meet the candidates” events to learn where individuals running for offices directly impacting the Richmond and Wayne County Indiana areas stand and primary Election Day approaches on May 5th. Pete Zaleski (R), running for state representative of IN56 was asked prepared questions first, focused on affordability and cost of living. Following Ron Itnyre (D), and sitting state senator Jeff Raatz, (R), answered questions around taxes, affordability, due process, and education to present themselves for the upcoming midterm election in November. Closing the evening, Wayne County Sheriff candidates Alan Moore (R) and Kyle Weatherly (R), both answered question on how they’d operate as the county’s head of law enforcement, while both pulling from their lifelong public service experience and commitment to public safety. #community #politics #indiana #richmondindiana #2026elections
